| Description | This video was made in Yulubmax, the village of origin of one of this project's members, Anselmo Silvano, in the municipality of Chilón, and in the zone of Bachajón-San Sebastián. It records an interview about the construction of traditional houses ("akul na" in Tseltal), taking advantage of the fact that one of the families in this village has a house in the process of being built. Don Gaspar Silvano, Anselmo's father, is the one who introduced the project members to this family and he is a major participant in this same interview. The majority of the recording concerns the techniques employed, the knowledge about the preparation of the adobe, about the types of trees that are used in the framing, etc. It also records a short demonstration of the process of constructing a house. |
