Description | What Don Lucas explains to us is the three men who went to look for wicker on the hill of Juil, and went and found the Lacandon. They fixed their camp and days passed. A day came where they sent the gentleman to make a fire because they were two young men and an older man. “Go make the fire, you will make the fire!” they said to the gentleman. “Okay,” he said. He went to put the fire on. He saw that he no longer had water and went to fetch some. The water was near the place where were they were. As soon as he started to kneel, he heard something cry. “Tch'ololol,” it said, and it had long hair. He kept saying tch'ololol. “Who are you?” said the poor man, and he did not answer. The man guessed [that] his name [was Tch'ololol], and after that he spoke to them. “I am the one who will help you, but I will go with you and teach your children because you are wasting yourselves,” said the Lacandon. So they brought him into the village (Chajul), and he came to fight in many struggles during the time he was there. |
