| Description | This bundle consists of five texts made from the original recording. The themes discussed are the following: 1) Life of community ancestors. In particular Juan describes farming work practices for maize and beans, 2) Juan describes the type of work that he conducts on his land. The types of crops he has in each parcel and compares this with the way this work was done before, 3) Juan describes the different process for building traditional stick houses and how beds were constructed of similar materials. He also describes how houses are built that have tile roofs, 4) Juan describes how his own house was built, where it is located and who lives there, 5) Juan describes everything that is related to the cultivation and extraction of honey. The types of honey that exist where the bees that produce the honey are located and how much these bees produce. Recorded with a Tascam HD-P2 solid state field recorder and Shure SM10A head-worn microphones in the lower western room of Rufino Quintas López's house. These texts were recorded with a Sony HDR-HC9 Mini DV HD Handy cam digital video recorder for linguistic analysis and to capture Juan's gestures while describes these various processes to Reginaldo. Juan is facing south as he speaks; Reginaldo is facing east. |
