AILLA Software Upgrade and Rebuild
We are excited to announce that we have begun a large-scale project to upgrade and rebuild AILLA’s repository software. This project will last for the rest of the 2023 year.
What this means for AILLA users:
• The current AILLA repository and website will remain accessible until the launch of the new repository.
• We anticipate that the new repository will launch by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024. The exact date is still to be determined.
What this means for AILLA self-depositors:
• No new self-deposit requests will be accepted until further notice.
• Effective immediately, AILLA staff cannot add anything new to AILLA or make any changes on your behalf.
• No changes of any kind may be made to the existing AILLA repository starting on Monday, April 3, 2023.
• If you have any outstanding metadata or media files you plan to add to your collection yourself, please complete this work by the end of the day on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
• On Monday, April 3, 2023, AILLA staff will change all Depositor user roles to normal AILLA user roles. This action will not cause any changes to your username or password.
• We will have completely new workflows and processes for self-depositors that we will share in early 2024.
• If you were planning to make a time-sensitive deposit to AILLA in 2023, please contact AILLA as soon as possible to discuss your options.
What this means for AILLA full-service depositors:
• Effective immediately, AILLA staff cannot add anything new to AILLA or make any changes on your behalf.
• AILLA will not accept any new materials for deposit until January 2024 at the earliest.
• If you were planning to make a time-sensitive deposit to AILLA in 2023, please contact AILLA as soon as possible to discuss your options.
Thank you for being a loyal supporter of AILLA. We are sorry for any inconvenience this upgrade might cause you, but we hope you will be excited to see the new Archive of the Indigenous Languages of Latin America in 2024.
