DescriptionCreation story. María tells the story of Ochi and Mayawaka she learned from her father, Rafael Cayupare. The story starts with the head-people couple that the trickster brothers discovered and to whom they provide arms, legs and other human parts to their anatomy. There are different episodes to the story, including the acquisition of the fishhook, the creation of new languages and the advent of night. A Spanish version of the story her father knew as a young man was published by Johannes Wilbert in his 1963 book "Indios de la región Orinoco-Ventuari".
