Description | This unpublished short basic vocabulary of Sapé (a.k.a. Kaliana; ISO-639-3 spc) is based on Swadesh 200-word list. Its data were obtained in 1970 in an indigenous community located along the Karún River, Venezuela. The respondent was a "relatively bilingual" man who lived at the confluence of the Karún and Kamú rivers. He was married to two Uruak women. All members of this family speak Pemón among themselves. A photocopy of this vocabulary was sent by Walter Coppens (1937-2010) to Ernesto C. Migliazza in 1974 and then donated by Migliazza to Raoul Zamponi in 2009. |
