| Description | The interviewees are descendants of native Guató speakers. In most cases, they didn't acquire the language because their Guató-speaking mothers were married to Portuguese-speaking men who prohibited using the indigenous language. In Vicência Silva's case, both parents were native Guató speakers who transmitted the language to their children.
