DescriptionFrom the introduction to the paper:

We present an analysis of children’s early words in Xi’iuy, the autonym for Northern Pame. Xi’iuy is the northern-most member of the Otopamean language family, which is a branch of the Otomanguean language family. Linguistic studies of Xi’iuy include Avelino (1997, 2002, 2006), Baltazar Hernández et al (2007) and Berthiaume (2006, 2008, 2012). The only published acquisition research on Otomanguean languages has been done on Zapotec (Lillehaugen 2003; Jensen de López 1999, 2002, 2007; Stemberger and Lee 2007).
