DescriptionBrian Stross bought these three reel tapes titled "Let's Speak Tzeltal" before he started his own fieldwork on Tseltal in Chiapas, Mexico. These recordings were made by Norman McQuown as part of the Chiapas Project of the University of Chicago. The originals are in the Digital Media Archive (DMA, once known as the Language Laboratories and Archives) of the University of Chicago: dma.uchicago.edu. Even though Stross did not make these recordings, he felt that they should be preserved in AILLA so that they would be easily available to the public. These recordings are in the public domain.
