DescriptionThis folder contains the digitization of a portion of Reel 4, side B (see the scan of the reel-to-reel tape box) and appears here as JAC002R007|001.wav. This recording is also part of the larger file that contains all of Reel 4 Side B, which appears in the folder "Traditional narratives and conversations" as JAC002R001|001.wav. It is important to note that the content of the reel itself does not match the metadata on the reel box as described on the back side of the box (left-hand side of the scan).

In this particular recording, Trinidad Montejo reads a text about the history of Carnaval sentence by sentence and Colette Craig provides the corresponding Spanish translation after each sentence.

Note: The original open reel tape is in the Special Collections of the Benson Latin American Collections library at the University of Texas at Austin.
