DescriptionThis calendar is written in English because it is the language of the Rama people today. The theme of each verse is introduced with Rama words. It shows how the old Rama people refer to the months in their language. It also describes how these people of the jungle made their living from fishing and hunting. The contemporary part of the calendar is made of the songs composed by the musical group of Rama Cay to celebrate their culture. Drawings by Basilio Benjamins.

Sponsoring by CIDCA research projects supported by Linguists for Nicaragua and the Bilingual Bicultural program of the Ministry of Education. The calendar was produced with funds from the Council for Human Rights in Latin America of Oregon and CORSO of New Zealand.
