| Description | Recording of a sequence of speeches in the gathering house of Niatupu or Tigantiki. After an initial speech or two, Chief Gonzalo Salcedo began to chant. This cassette recording cuts off at the beginning of the chant, which was recorded on a reel-to-reel tape recorder. After the end of the chant, the cassette recording resumes with the interpretation of the chant by an arkar or vocero, and after that, a report to the gathering by another man. |
