DescriptionOn February 7, 1978, Sakla Pippi (Little Chief), one of the chiefs of the village of Urgandi or Río Sidra, sang the chant recorded here, which is concerned with Kuna cosmology. Translated excerpts from the chant appear in Howe 1986, in the first of two chapters on the Kuna sacred village gathering. The spoken interpretation is by a village argar or vocero, known by his last name, Arosemena (first name not recorded).
