Description | La historia de Twiren, the story of Twiren or Olonikikinya. Twiren was a culture hero, son of a star-man and a human mother, who helped the ancestors of the Kuna defeat oppressive vampire-people (See Aiban Wagwa 2000:62-72, Howe 1991). A favorite narrative for Kuna today, taken as a charter for resistance and assertion of political autonomy, analyzed by James Howe (1991). |
