Description | This unpublished short basic vocabulary of Arutani (a.k.a. Urutani and Uruak; ISO-639-3 atx) is based on Swadesh 200-word list. Its data were obtained in 1970 in an indigenous community located along the Paragua River, Venezuela. The respondent was an elderly Uruak man who lived on the left bank of the Paragua River near the Cosoiba rapids. The interview was mediated by Pemón-speaking interpreter. A photocopy of this vocabulary was sent by Walter Coppens (1937-2010) to Ernesto C. Migliazza in 1974 and then donated by Migliazza to Raoul Zamponi in 2009. |
