Description	Materials on Sapé (a.k.a. Kaliana or Kariana; ISO: spc/Glottcode: sape1238) collected as part of an Endangered Languages Fund 2016 Language Legacies project. These materials come from fieldwork conducted by Jorge Emilio Rosés Labrada and Francia Medina in the community of Kavaimakén (Upper Paragua River, Venezuela) in 2017 with the late Ramón Quimillo Lezama. The collection includes re-elicitation and translation of an audio file collected in 1964 by Ernest Migliazza (part of his AILLA collection: https://ailla.utexas.org/islandora/object/ailla%3A124993) as well as a sociolinguistic interview with Quimillo and a Swadesh 100 wordlist. Additionally, the collection includes materials recorded in 1999 with the late Elena Lezama.

: Swadesh list elicited with Elena Lezama (1999); This folder contains digitized audio files for two cassette tapes recorded in 1999 by Francia Medina with the late Sapé speaker Elena Lezama, assisted by Lorenzo Lezama as a translator. Unfortunately, the original tapes were damaged and the resulting digital audio files have a consistent noise throughout that makes the speech in the recording hard to understand. However, given the paucity of documentation of Sapé, we are including the materials here in hopes that technology will help us recover what was originally said at one point in the near future., Esta carpeta contiene ficheros de audio digitalizados de dos casetes grabados en 1999 por Francia Medina con la finada Elena Lezama, hablante de sapé, con ayuda de Lorenzo Lezama quien sirvió como traductor.
