| Description | This is a folktale recorded in 1996. A polished phonemic transcription which is glossed and translated into English and Spanish is included as Appendix B1 of Beam de Azcona's 2004 UC Berkeley dissertation. An unpolished and sometimes inaccurate transcription is found in another item archived as ZPS001R004. In the latter item there is a phonetic transcription which is deleted in the more polished version, and there are also grammatical comments, made from a novice perspective, which are not found in the 2004 version. This language is also spoken in the towns of San Miguel Coatlán, San Sebastián Coatlán, San Jerónimo Coatán, San Baltazar Loxicha, and Santa Catarina Loxicha. |
