DescriptionThis is a narrative about the town of Huehuetla during the Mexican Revolution.

The two participants, María Patricio Tolentino and Nicolás Vigueras Patricio, are aunt and nephew. Don Nicolás was my principal consultant. This was the first occasion in which Doña María wanted to tell me a Tepehua story, and she did not have any prior experience as a linguistic consultant. Given her inexperience, her age, and their relationship, Don Nicolás told the story jointly with his aunt.
There is no introduction to this story. Doña María immediately begins narrating in Tepehua, with Don Nicolás contributing from time to time. Next, Don Nicolás provides a free translation of the story in Spanish.

Story (I001); translation (I002).
